An unforgettable visit to Kanileʻa Ukulele! I visited Kanileʻa Ukulele with my two moms, and we had the most wonderful experience. Benji led our tour and was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and kind — he took time to answer every question we had and made the visit engaging from start to finish. Everyone working there greeted us with a big smile, and it was fascinating to watch the team craft these amazing little instruments by hand (and now beautiful guitars too — definitely check them out!). The tour lasted about two hours, but it honestly flew by. Highly recommend a visit to Kanileʻa Ukuleles if you’re on Oʻahu — it’s inspiring, educational, and full of aloha. Just make sure to book your tour online in advance before you go.

Mahalo for hosting Make Music Day. It was a lot of fun seeing all the ukulele musicians. The staff was very friendly and the selections in different price range won’t disappoint you.

Not a review of the store (although we did go there) but of the factory tour. This was an amazing tour and almost convinced me to buy and try to play a ukulele even though I have NO sense of rhythm, tone, or any musical ability. The absolute joy in the owner, Joe's voice as he explained the harvesting and care for the Koa tree that he was working on was touching. The family has planted 44,000 Koa trees to restore the island's ecosystem. Joe talked about the pieces of wood from the tree as "she." It was evident that he loved and respected the wood. Each step of the process was a delight. The family has successfully blended the modern lean practices, laser cutting, and 3-D printing with the old-school hand crafting of these amazing instruments.
