Val is the absolute best educator I have worked with, in any field, ever. He is incredibly intelligent musically, emotionally, and psychologically. The trifecta of these traits is critical for creating the perfect environment for growth. He will meet you exactly where you are and direct you with the patience of a bonsai gardener while also adding pressure exactly where it’s needed to form you into the artist you can be. There’s no opportunity to stagnate in your comfort zone- something lesser educators will do to drag out lessons. Not Val. Singing is a very vulnerable activity, and he is the perfect balance of kind and direct. I was a beginner but have a background in music, mainly guitar, and being a beginner is always humbling. I have been working with Val for over 6 months and he is truly amazing. He has completely transformed my voice and improved my skills in multiple different areas. He is a great teacher and is great at explaining complex techniques in an easy to digest format. I would recommend Val for any singer beginner or experienced and I am very happy that I started and continue to take lessons with him. Val is GREAT.

Val is not only an incredible vocal instructor, but also a great human being. Val is extremely knowledgeable about the techniques required to become an improved singer - he puts in the time, patience, and also challenges you to push yourself. It was clear from the moment that I started my voice lessons with Chicago Voice Lab that it was going to be a life-changing experience.
