I've recorded at studios from NYC to San Francisco, and I've never had a better recording experience than I did yesterday at Higher Learning Music Group here in Chicago. We had a 10-hour session and Dre, the engineer, was like that helpful sidekick you wish you always had - involved and engaged the whole time making sure you're getting everything you want and need for your project. Not only does he know his stuff (not just the gear but music theory, harmony, VO tips) but he actually made the process FUN. He's like the exact opposite of that dude that hits record then checks Facebook. The vocalists I had coming in were so impressed with the studio - the vibe is totally chill and comfortable. I found the studio randomly and booked - and now I can't imagine recording anywhere else. On top
