Rick has been providing private lessons to my son for more than three years now. I have seen my son improve significantly under Rick's able guidance. He is a great teacher, very patient and keeps the students motivated. Rick has been tutoring my 12 years old son for trombone. This is the third instrument we tried. As a very energetic boy who doesn’t like to sit in the seat for longer than 5 minutes, the other two instruments did not work out for him and he stopped playing only after a few months. So I didn’t have high expectations for the longevity of my son’s enthusiasm for trombone. However Rick and my son worked very well together since the very beginning. After the first class, my son told me “the lesion went so quickly and felt like 5 minutes”! That was two and half years ago! Rick is very kind, patient but meticulous and straightforward at the same time. My son really enjoys his classes and his time spent with Mr. Rick talking about music and beyond. That’s what keeps him going with the instrument.

My son has been studying with Mr. Simmons for more than six months, and we have been very happy with the studio. Mr. Simmons is very professional and a great communicator. Since beginning lessons last summer our son has been promoted to the two top band ensembles at Cooper Middle School.
