So, I am not your typical "musician". When I first heard about this class, I was skeptical, because I was a little afraid that I wouldn't be able get anything out of it. But I thought it was a cool concept so I went. When I got there, EVERYONE exceeded my expectations! The instructor, Melvin, was not only extremely knowledgeable, but he was patient. He taught us step-by-step on how to build a song from scratch. Our genre for the night was R&B. One of the coolest things that I saw, was that even though we had a specific genre, everyone created something different. He even had a template to help us add words to our songs if we wanted.
