I have had a very positive experience having Buck as a teacher. He gave me a great introduction to the instrument and got me very comfortable in a regular practice. He is always prepared with a direction for each lesson, but also caters to my tangents and will delve into any aspect of the banjo I need to explore. Not only an inspiring and effective teacher, Buck has grown to be a trusted friend as well. His kind and easy-going demeanor made our virtual lessons comfortable and pleasant from the get-go. My son started taking banjo lessons with Buck when he was four years old. I wasn’t sure how it was going to go with him being so young, but Buck was great with him. Buck made so many accommodations for him since he was and is still a small kid even now two years later, and the banjo can be difficult for him to hold and play comfortably at this age. He’s found creative ways to make managing the banjo comfortable for him. My son continues to play and look forward to his lessons and now my fourteen year old son has started playing with them as well. You can tell Buck really cares about his students and about the music he’s teaching. I have been studying and taking lessons from Buck for three years and there is no better instructor anywhere. Buck is always attempting to taylor his instructions specifically to the student. He is the real deal. You will not find a more capable, enthusiastic instructor anywhere. Love my banjo and luv Buck.
