Amber is a positive, but honest instructor. She takes each student where they are at and works at their pace to achieve their goals. She will demonstrate proper technique and work along side the student to ensure they are practicing with and forming good habits of technique. I appreciate that she doesn’t pass each student off when they feel they’re finished with a piece, or rush them through the curriculum, but she helps them polish each piece and get the best result possible. If you are looking for an instructor who will encourage you and set you up for success, Amber is a fantastic choice.

Besides being a talented performer, Amber is an excellent teacher who meets students where they are and helps them to set and achieve reasonable yet challenging personal goals! I took her beginner organ class in a group setting at the university level and was impressed with her ability to personally mentor and meet the needs of each student regardless of their background experience. She expects practice and preparation because she prepares so well herself to instruct and inspire. Her comprehensive class included lessons on technique, theory, practice methods, repertoire, and understanding the mechanics of the instrument. Amber's teaching methods help even her beginner students to master technique and feel comfortable asking questions!
