I lived here for my 6th and 7th grade years in the 80's. The road was named East Los Angeles then. There were so many roaches. I was the only white boy in the neighborhood, but I was friends with my neighbors in the area. Some good, some bad. Plenty of gang activity and gunshots sometimes. I lived in that house for a year without electricity for a year. My mother couldn't afford the bill. Sometimes, my friends parent would drive me home and they would ask why the house was candle lit.
