I brought in a 1990 Aria Pro II acoustic guitar with the vague request to improve its playability. Wasn't broken or anything, but the strings have always been super high and I just lived with it all this time. I figured it was worth a shot to see what could be done. Now this clunky old relic is playing nearly as well as my Taylor GS5. I'm told the luthier replaced the saddle, adjusted the nut, and put on new strings. I think some pixie dust might have been involved, too. I am blown away by how much easier this old guitar is to play! Easy fretting and no buzzing. Well done!

Another “boutique” shop did a terrible setup on my Martin. They simply put new strings on and didn’t adjust anything. I took my guitar in to David at Buchanan’s and he actually took out a ruler and measured the desired action and relief that I was looking for. They recommended I upgrade to a bone nut as well due to the cracking in the cheap plastic from the factory. Guitar came back absolutely perfect with no fret buzz in a week or two. New nut was done cleanly as well. I’ve since taken 3 guitars back for setups. A little bit of an older shop, but service is top notch. The record collection in the back is an added bonus. Very happy with my experience at Buchanan’s.
