★ 5 · bll runsCharles has been recording bands for as long as I can remember, and I've know him for close to twenty years. Analog, digital, live, via the Web, he's flexible and reliable. Not only does he work with various mediums and methods, he makes them all sound great. I have heard recordings of the same band done by Charles and then done elsewhere, likely at a higher cost, and his recordings sound better. In addition to recording, I've also been in a band with Charles, where a similar sensibility around "feel" and coming up with the appropriate sound for a particular part is one of his strong suits. How nice to work with someone who is trying to make the overall song or material sound great, not just his own part or his own agenda.
