The Business in Anacortes is a rare find. Nick and Evie are exceptional owners who clearly live and breathe music. They are always available to help track down the exact album you are searching for, and if it is not in stock, they will go the extra mile to source it. Their depth of knowledge and genuine reverence for the craft make it clear this is not simply retail, it is careful, intentional curation. Be sure to ask for recommendations. They deliver every single time. This is not your average used record store. You will barely recognize many of the artists or labels, and that is precisely the point. Discovery is the experience. The selection transports you back to a time before streaming algorithms shaped our listening habits, when you bought an album and immersed yourself in it fully.

Very cool selection of indie / underground artists / obscure gems worth seeking out. Definitely worth a visit if you're into vinyl or a music lover in general. Would make regular stops here if I were a local.

Best record store I've ever been to, hands down. I don't say that lightly. I love Sonic boom and Easy St, and the amoeba stores in California are great. They all have larger selections than the Business, but none of them are as well curated or staffed. The only thing I would change is I wish it were closer to my house! Not really though, as the out-there location is part of the charm. Every record lover and hunter should put this on their bucket list.
