Singing in front of another person can be nerve-wracking, so I was in search of a teacher that was kind and encouraging (aka non-judgmental) and thankfully found that teacher with Kenya. My goals were to better understand my range and increase my confidence singing in front of others. Going to lessons is a great forcing function to practice intentionally, and I was pleasantly surprised to learn new vocal exercises and figure out ways to unlock depth to my voice with her guidance. She is a warm and supportive instructor and signing up/scheduling lessons is super simple on her platform!

When my granddaughter’s voice coach was away on an extended vacation, we turned to NextDoor in search of a quick substitute. We were delighted to find Kenya, who was so receptive to helping my granddaughter prepare for musical theater camp that summer. Later, when school began and my freshman granddaughter had only four days to prepare for auditions for the school musical, Kenya graciously arranged a Sunday lesson to fit her in.
