A recording studio is only as good as the people behind the board. Derek and Josh are absolute pros. The rooms sound great and they have an extensive gear list with all the right pieces to make a great recording. Prime is also home to Nashville Mastering which should be your new go-to place for Mastering.

We got the opportunity to record with Derek at Prime Recording a few months back. Derek is a stellar engineer, producer, musician, and a creative person to be around. This is usually enough when it comes to being involved in creating music somewhere, but the studio itself is top notch quality as well. Loads of analog and digital equipment for any musical needs, cozy atmosphere for writing/thinking, and any kind of food to fuel a session is within walking distance. Don't sleep on this one, Prime is doing some cool things.

One of the best experiences of my life. I spent two weeks at Prime mixing a record with Mix engineer Derek Garten and not only did we get a stellar-sounding record, we had such a blast doing it- hanging and laughing and drinking lots of tea and eating lots of Thai food! Derek’s brilliancy and mastery of craft got us where we needed to go and fast too. They have lots of great analog outboard gear as well. I don’t doubt I’ll be back in the near future even though I live in L.A.! They also have a sweet old-school jukebox in the kitchen that spins original 45s.
