I did a tour of the studios and learned the state-of the-art complex at Made in Memphis Entertainment is one of the most advanced studios in the world. The $5 million, 16,525-square-foot studio was built by Songwriters Hall of Fame recipient and Stax Records legend David Porter. The designers say every inch of the facility is made for pristine sonic output. The complex has pre-production rooms, writing rooms, and the wood on the studio walls and ceilings are not for decoration; they're sound diffusers.
