The $5 million, 16,525-square-foot studio was built by Songwriters Hall of Fame recipient and Stax Records legend David Porter. The designers say every inch of the facility is made for pristine sonic output. The complex has pre-production rooms, writing rooms, and the wood on the studio walls and ceilings are not for decoration; they're sound diffusers. British studio designer Michael Cronin made studios A, B and C totally different from one another to create different sounds.
