That is an unfortunate review posted above since I personally know Kathryn and know that she is a wonderful teacher and runs a professional business. It is unfair that someone would write a bad review because they don't agree with the studio policies. I have a similar policy within my studio. What families don't always realize and/or remember is that they are paying for a teachers expertise and training. If a student misses a lesson, teachers still have to pay self-employment tax, property tax, certification costs, professional development and in many cases rent. A half hour lesson requires at least another half hour of lesson planning. Teachers are constantly researching, planning, event planning, recital planning well over the 30 minutes of instruction. She is great teacher and my daughter likes her alot but be careful of the policy. She doesn't do make up lessons her schedule doesnt allow for it with 30 students and a waiting list. so NO make ups available. We were offered one make up in 3.5 months. Snow days/sick/ school vacation. So most months I was paying $75 for two lessons. I suggest a pay per lesson if you want your child to learn to play and you need consistency "weekly" and pay for what your getting. I was offered a $50 refund for this month because she was only going to have one class. Which refunds aren't in the policy. Again She is a great teacher but may not be for those who don't have a disposable income and wish to have weekly classes or make up for missed classes for things beyond anyone's control

Incredible teacher, very engaging!!! Excellent with my 4 year old! Highly recommend Kathryn!
