Jim is an outstanding drum teacher who goes far beyond technique. Every lesson is infused with his genuine passion for music, and that enthusiasm is contagious. He challenges his students in a thoughtful, supportive way that builds both skill and confidence. He teaches them to think like musicians — listening critically, figuring out parts by ear, and writing out music. We leave every lesson feeling motivated and inspired. Highly recommend.

If you desire to learn to play drums correctly, to be the best drummer you can be, to understand the instrument and your role in a band, Jim is the instructor you want to be with. I have a 45 minute drive to get the Jim, but after taking about a half dozen intro lessons with other drummers it was clear that Jim is a true professional. You will not be disappointed I promise you.

Jim is an extremely skilled, patient and caring drum teacher. My daughter looks forward to her lessons every week and has been growing for over 2 years as a drummer. I greatly recommend Jimmy Lane Newtown Studio.
