The building was built in 1835 but around one hundred year later, Cosimo Matasa opened the J & M Studio here. He went on to record many of the greats of early rock and roll in this building. Little Richard’s Tutti Fruity, Fats Domino’s Fat Man and Professor Longhair’s Mardi Gras were recorded here among many, many others. The studio closed in 1956 but this is a part of rock and roll history.
