Joseph is a wonderful, kind and gifted teacher. I have made more progress on the guitar under his guidance in a year then I had in the entire previous ten years of playing. He helped me relearn how to hold my guitar, how to use my fingers on the strings to achieve the sound I want, and how to get brave and make some noise. Joseph is an incredible guitar teacher here in Longmont. His approach to teaching guitar focuses as much on the "why" aspect of guitar and music theory as it does the "how to play" aspect. In my time learning from Joseph I progressed immensely in my ability to solo and improvise, which were my main goals. During lessons he takes the time to answer questions and provide good feedback, while also setting realistic goals to practice between lessons. If ever I hear of someone wanting to actually learn how to play guitar, Joseph is the first person I recommend they reach out to.

Joseph is by far the best guitar teacher I have found anywhere. In addition to his deep understanding of music, he has really thought about how to teach music and has a uniquely effective approach for teaching an understanding of how to play music on the guitar so that as you advance, you're not just copying others. Instead you learn to create the sound you want. Plus he has a great personality and is fun to do lessons with.
