I'm an old guy who has been playing heavy metal electric guitar for decades. I wanted to change styles and expand my musical knowledge so I looked around my town for a teacher but didn't vibe with anyone. For the past year, I've been driving over an hour each way to take lessons with Ivan, and it's been so worth it. He's helped me explore different genres and really upped my technical skills and understanding of music theory. His passion for music *and* teaching is boundless. His joy in both is so infectious that I leave every lesson a better musician. Thanks, Ivan and Tania, for continuing to teach an old dog new tricks!

Ivan is a top notch guitarist and teacher! He was great about answering my questions before my son began lessons, and I felt really confident after speaking with him over the phone that he would be a great fit. I have a vocal jazz background and I knew that Ivan would be an excellent teacher with his jazz background...jazz is so great because of the emphasize on improv and playing with other musicians! My son always comes out of lessons happy with his time spent learning with Ivan, and he really enjoys the once a month guitar ensemble practice too. It is also a pleasure to listen to Ivan play his guitar :)

Ivan has been teaching my 6 year old son guitar for the past 6 months. He is fun, personable and a great teacher. My son has grown so much under Ivan’s personalized instruction. He can play many cords, and read notes 🎶! I highly recommend Ivan if you’re looking for a great guitar instructor.
