Our experience at Joyful Strings Studio has been very positive, especially after our recent trial lesson. Ms. Ko is truly gifted at working with children; my 5-year-old son connected with her immediately, and she has done a fantastic job teaching him the essential fundamentals of the violin. I do have two pieces of constructive feedback. First, I would have loved to see a bit more hands-on interaction with the instrument itself, even in these early stages. While the basics are vital, a little more balance with actual playing would have gone a long way in feeding my son’s passion for making music. Second, the lesson took place in the basement of a townhouse with no natural light. Compared to professional studios with windows and a more open atmosphere, the setting wasn't ideal for a learni

I have a 5-year-old girl, I’m just so grateful we found this wonderful music studio. My daughter has been taking violin lessons with Ms. Ko, and it’s honestly been such a lovely experience for our family. Ms. Ko is so patient and kind with young kids. She makes the lessons feel relaxed and fun, but still structured in a way that helps my daughter really learn. I was a little worried at first because she’s so young, but Ms. Ko knows exactly how to guide her without making it feel overwhelming. My daughter gets excited every time we tell her it’s violin day, and she proudly performs what she’s practiced at home. I’ve seen her confidence grow so much, not just in music but in general. We couldn’t be happier with Joyful Strings! Joy is incredibly patient, kind, and truly wonderful with children. From the very first lesson, she made learning violin feel fun and encouraging, which helped build our child’s confidence and love for music. What really stands out is her genuine passion for teaching and for the violin itself; it’s contagious. She knows how to explain concepts in a way kids understand, while still keeping lessons structured and productive. Our child looks forward to every lesson and has made great progress.
