Optimally designed acoustic spaces, incredible selection of vintage instruments and amps and microphones, and a stellar sounding and equipped control room, anchored by a beautiful Neve 8058 console. We recently recorded at Clubhouse Studio and, at first glance, the experience was strong. The studio itself is impressive—great space, well-equipped, and the engineers and staff were professional, accommodating, and clearly know what they’re doing. However, the session was significantly impacted by the behavior of someone associated with ownership. Throughout our time there, she appeared visibly intoxicated and repeatedly inserted herself into the session in ways that were disruptive and inappropriate. More concerning was her treatment of our PAs and management, which came across as unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. It’s unfortunate, because the core team and facility have a lot of potential.
