Christine is a great instructor to take your vocal skills to the next level, whether you are an amateur performer or already a professional. Lessons with Christine are not just about singing well but working towards being an overall professional tier performer. I began lessons with her a year ago when I was welcomed to be a cantor at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Baltimore. I had previously taken years of voice lessons with other instructors but had some problem areas I could not move past. Working with Christine through video lessons during the pandemic has helped me improve my sight-reading ability, refine my ear, and give added ease and clarity to both extremes of my range. Mezzoid Voice Studio, run by mezzo soprano Christine O’Meally is one of the pre-eminent vocal coaching studios in Baltimore. As a singer who has trained with Ms. O’Meally, I find her instruction creative, personal and highly effective. Her imagery is excellent and she treats each and every student as a unique artist. My 14 year old twin daughters study with her weekly and both have moved from supporting roles in school theater to reaching new levels of performance in lead roles. Christine is an excellent voice teacher. She has a background in opera, and she was the first voice teacher I have ever had that taught me how to properly belt for musical theater. It was that 'a ha' moment of placement rather than what I thought I learned years before. With classical training, if you belt, it's only in the lowest part of your voice and otherwise you go to a mixed voice before singing in head voice. I learned that from years of classical training.
